Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Bagdogra / NJP – Transfer to Phuentsholing
- Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station, meet our representative for your transfer to Jaigaon, the last Indian town before the Bhutan border.
- After completing the entry formalities at Bhutan Immigration, cross over to Phuentsholing.
- Check in to your hotel and relax. If time allows, stroll through the local market and visit Zangtopelri Lhakhang.
- Dinner and overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 2 – Phuentsholing to Thimphu – The Capital Journey
- After breakfast, meet your Bhutanese guide who will assist with the permit process (approx. 30 minutes).
- Begin your journey to Thimphu, visiting Kharbandi Monastery along the way. Enjoy the scenic drive through Gedu, Dam Viewpoint, and the waterfall near Chuzom.
- On arrival in Thimphu, check into your hotel and relax for the evening.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 – Excursion to Punakha & Dochula Pass
- Start the day with a visit to Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s first fortress monastery.
- Drive to Dochula Pass (3,050 m) for sweeping Himalayan views, then continue to Punakha Dzong, the former winter capital.
- Walk across the Suspension Bridge, visit a local Nunnery, and explore Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.
- On the way back, stop at Wangdi Dzong and the local market.
- Return to Thimphu for an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Thimphu Sightseeing & Transfer to Paro
- After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s highlights:
– Memorial Chorten – built in honor of the Third King.
– Buddha Dordenma – one of the world’s largest Buddha statues with panoramic city views.
– Takin Mini Zoo – home to Bhutan’s national animal.
– Sangaygang Viewpoint – for beautiful city vistas.
– Handicraft Emporium & Paper Factory – showcasing Bhutanese artistry.
– Simply Bhutan – interactive cultural museum. - Folk Heritage Museum & National Library – for a glimpse into Bhutan’s rural life and ancient manuscripts.
- Later, drive to Paro (approx. 1 hr 15 min) and check into your hotel.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5 – Trek to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)
- After breakfast, set out for a trek to the legendary Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley.
- The 4–5 hour round-trip hike rewards you with breathtaking views and spiritual serenity.
- If time permits, visit Paro Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, and other local landmarks.
- Return to your hotel in Paro for the night.
Day 6 – Paro to Siliguri via Phuentsholing – Airport Viewpoint Stop
- After breakfast, visit the Paro Airport Viewpoint, famous for being one of the world’s most challenging landing strips, surrounded by 18,000 ft peaks.
- Enjoy the scenic drive back to India via Phuentsholing.
- Arrive in Siliguri by evening and check into your hotel.
- Overnight stay in Siliguri.
Day 7 – Departure
- After breakfast, check out and transfer on your own to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your onward journey.
