Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Rishikesh / Haridwar → Drive to Chopta (7–8 hrs)
- Meet your trek leader and fellow travelers in Rishikesh/Haridwar.
- Drive through scenic mountain roads along the Ganga and Alaknanda rivers.
- Reach Chopta by evening, check into camps/homestay.
- Dinner & overnight stay in Chopta.
Day 2 – Trek from Chopta → Tungnath Temple → Chandrashila Summit → Return to Chopta
- Post breakfast, start the 3.5 km trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple (3,680 m).
- Continue 1.5 km uphill to Chandrashila Peak (4,000 m) for 360° Himalayan views (Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, Chaukhamba).
- Return trek to Chopta, dinner & overnight stay.
Day 3 – Chopta → Sari Village → Trek to Deoria Tal
- After breakfast, drive to Sari Village (45 mins).
- Begin a short but scenic 2.3 km trek to Deoria Tal (2,438 m).
- Enjoy mesmerizing reflections of Chaukhamba peaks in the lake.
- Camping by the lakeside with bonfire & stargazing. Overnight stay.
Day 4 – Deoria Tal → Sari Village → Chopta (Leisure & Local Exploration)
- Morning photography session at Deoria Tal.
- Trek down to Sari Village and drive back to Chopta.
- Spend the evening exploring Chopta meadows, birdwatching, or simply relaxing.
- Overnight stay at Chopta.
Day 5 – Chopta → Rishikesh / Haridwar (Departure)
- After breakfast, bid farewell to Chopta.
- Drive back to Rishikesh/Haridwar with unforgettable memories.
- Trip ends with promises to meet again on your next Himalayan adventure.
