Itinerary
Arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, preferably by 11:00 AM. Begin your scenic journey to Kaziranga National Park, home to the one-horned rhinoceros. Reach by evening and check in to your hotel or lodge. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
Start your day early with an exciting jungle safari through Kaziranga’s grasslands and forests, spotting diverse wildlife. After breakfast, set off for Shillong, known as the “Scotland of the East.” Arrive by evening and settle into your hotel. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast, check out and head to the breathtaking Laitlum Grand Canyon, offering sweeping valley views. Continue towards Krang Suri Waterfall, famous for its turquoise waters. By evening, reach Shnongpdeng, a riverside gem by the crystal-clear Umngot River. Check into your riverside camps, enjoy a bonfire, dinner, and a night under the stars.
Wake up to riverside views and enjoy breakfast. Try thrilling water sports on the Umngot River (optional, direct payment). Post lunch, visit Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village, with its charming bamboo walkways and gardens. Proceed to Cherrapunjee and check in for the night.
Post breakfast, drive to Tyrna Village. En route, stop at Seven Sisters Falls if time allows. Begin your trek (approx. 3,300 steps one way) to the Single Root Bridge, then continue to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Trek back to Tyrna, completing the 6,600-step round trip. Return to Cherrapunjee for an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast with a view, then check out and visit Nohkalikai Falls, one of India’s tallest plunge waterfalls, and the serene Lyngksiar Waterfalls. Explore Mawsmai Cave with its fascinating rock formations. Later, drive to Shillong and explore the vibrant Police Bazaar. Overnight in Shillong.
After breakfast, head towards Guwahati. Stop at the scenic Umiam Lake for photos and fresh air. Reach Guwahati Airport by evening (book flights after 6:00 PM). Return home with unforgettable memories of Assam and Meghalaya
